Mirroring the deepest human secrets

The concept of the collection sprouted amid the quietness of 2020-2021, while Katusha resided in Oaxaca City.

In late 2023, the idea resurfaced as she delved into the human ability to mirror each other combined with a process of facing oneself with unfiltered honesty, gazing directly into one's eyes, through distorted reflection and broken pieces of glass.

As humans, we often put on masks, concealing our true selves instead of trusting our inner wisdom and authenticity. The mirror assumes the role of an external entity, observing a person, reflecting not just their physical form but their inner world, encompassing fears and aspirations.

 

This experience becomes even more touching when the reflection is distorted by the broken pieces symbolizing the chaos and reburth of life. It is in these moments that profound shifts hold the potential to occur, transforming a viewer's perceptions.
